By using Mailbox Finder, you agree to the terms and conditions of use described in this privacy policy.

2. Object

This privacy policy describes how we collect, use and disclose your information and how to access and delete this information when necessary.

3. Scope

Mailbox Finder may contain links to websites and services which are operated by third parties like Apple or Notion. This privacy policy does not extend to those third parties over whom we have no power of action and for whom we cannot be held responsible. The privacy policies of these services are available on their spaces.

4. The information we get from you

We obtain and process information from your device in several ways, including:

• Once you have given your consent, we use your location information to return the contact details of nearby PO boxes.
• Mailbox Finder does not have access to the location data that you send in the API request in order to retrieve geographic data from PO boxes.
• Location data is collected only while Mailbox Finder is in the foreground and you have granted Mailbox Finder access to your device's location services.
• We collect your name, email address and any other information you may provide when you use the "Send a comment" feature in the "Settings ⚙️" screen.

5. How we use your data

We use the data you consent to send in the following ways:

• Contact you following a message sent using the "Send a comment" feature mentioned above.
• Comply with the law, regulations, and legal requests and orders.

6. User options

Mailbox Finder users retain sovereignty options over the data they transmit such as:

• The user has the choice of providing his exact position or his approximate position within a wider radius. In this way, your exact contact details will not be transmitted to La Poste's API but a larger area which does not allow you to know where the user is exactly.
• The user has the choice to include his contact details or not in the message sent via the "Send a comment" feature mentioned above.
• The user has the choice of the email address used to send said message, an email address that does not reveal his identity can perfectly be used.

7. Disclosure to third parties

Mailbox Finder does not disclose your information to third parties except for the following cases:

• In the event that Mailbox Finder is required to comply with laws and regulations and legal requests and orders or if this is permitted by law (i.e., for the protection and defense of our rights, a situation which threatens life, health or safety, etc.).

7.1. Thrid party services we use

When you use Mailbox Finder, we are using third party services to provide you relevant data. Here is the list of the services we use :

• Google Maps API, which provides the StreetView panel for all the PO boxes.

8. Data storage

Mailbox Finder retains your data within a reasonable period of 6 months for the information you send by choosing to contact Mailbox Finder through the aforementioned option.

9. Access and deletion

Your information on servers located in the United States. If you wish to access or delete any information collected by Mailbox Finder, please complete send your request at privacy@mailboxfinder.app.

10. Update

We reserve the right to amend or change this privacy policy at any time without notice. In the event that substantial changes are made to this privacy policy, we will alert you of these changes through our social networks 30 days before they come into effect. By using Mailbox Finder, you agree to be bound by the version of the privacy policy posted on the date you used the application. If you do not agree to the amendments or changes to the privacy policy, you may not access, use, or continue to use Mailbox Finder. By continuing to access and use Mailbox Finder, you signify your acceptance of such amendments and modifications. In any case, we recommend that you regularly consult this web page in order to be informed of any changes in this privacy policy. When we make changes to this privacy policy, we will revise the “last updated” date at the beginning of this privacy policy.
